London, 2 November 2026: Igneo Infrastructure Partners (Igneo), a global infrastructure investment manager, has closed the European Diversified Infrastructure Fund IV (EDIF IV) at its €6 billion hard cap, six months after first close.
Despite the challenging fundraising environment, EDIF IV was oversubscribed, surpassing its €4 billion target. The fund is approximately 11% larger than EDIF III, which reached its hard cap in October 2025. The fund size reflects Igneo's disciplined approach to growth and its commitment to preserving the strategy's mid-market focus.
EDIF IV received commitments from more than 90 investors across Europe, Asia-Pacific and North America, with Germany, the United States and Australia among the largest sources of capital. The investor base spans pension funds, insurers, sovereign investors and family offices, combining long-standing relationships with new institutional partners.
EDIF IV completed its first investment in September 2026 with the acquisition of Neumann Group, a German incinerator bottom ash recycling platform. The investment reflects Igneo’s focus on essential-service businesses with resilient characteristics and clear opportunities for operational value creation. Igneo has a strong pipeline and is well placed to invest the remainder of the fund selectively.
Hamish Lea-Wilson, Partner, Head of Igneo Infrastructure Partners Europe, said: “Reaching the €6 billion hard cap within six months reflects the strength of our investor relationships and confidence in our disciplined mid-market strategy. Investor demand would have supported a much larger fund, but we chose to stay in the part of the market where our team has deep experience and where active ownership can create the greatest value. The close is an important milestone, but our priority is now to invest selectively, manage assets proactively and continue to deliver for our investors.”
Carolyn Gilchrist, Partner, Global Head of Capital Formation, said: “The fund attracted extensive support from existing investors while also adding new relationships across Europe, Asia-Pacific and North America. That combination broadens the fund’s long-term capital base and demonstrates the global relevance of Igneo’s European mid-market strategy. We are grateful to our returning and new investors for their support and look forward to partnering over the life of EDIF IV.”
Lazard CL acted as global placement agent and Simmons & Simmons as lead legal advisor.
