Igneo acquires German biomethane producer DAH

All Press releases

London, 7th September 2023: Igneo Infrastructure Partners has agreed to acquire the renewable energy company DAH Group from Zech Group, a German family office, and the Gustav Zech Stiftung, a charitable foundation.

Headquartered in Berlin, DAH owns and operates 21 biogas plants in Eastern Germany, processing organic input materials into fully renewable biofuels essential to achieving the German and European energy transition. In addition to its operating portfolio, DAH is well-positioned to contribute to the ambitious growth targets the EU has set for domestic biomethane production.

Biomethane can be used interchangeably with natural gas and is used widely in heating, transportation and industrial processes. Unlike natural gas, biomethane is fully renewable and has a net zero carbon footprint.

Gregor Kurth, Partner, Igneo Infrastructure Partners said: “We are delighted to support DAH as it continues to provide the European market with biomethane, contributing both to energy independence and net zero goals. Our pro-active long-term and sustainable approach to investing is fully aligned with DAH’s strategy. With its impressive track record, DAH is in an ideal to position to further grow its biomethane portfolio.

With the acquisition of DAH, Igneo further expands its global renewables footprint and underscores its commitment to help facilitate the global energy transition.

The transaction is expected to close by November 2023, following customary approvals.
